Building on his 35+ years’ experience covering the spectrum of IT services, business processes and IT operations, PRK creates synergy across multiple TCS service lines and oversees TCS’ next generation automation capabilities leveraging AI and Machine First Delivery Model (MFDM™). PRK leads initiatives that take a Machine First™ approach to solving complex business challenges, using emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, smart automation, machine learning and cognitive thinking. Prior to creating EIA & AI, PRK was the global head of IT Infrastructure Services (ITIS) at TCS, a role he held from 2004 to 2017. In this role, he built the service line to nearly 3B USD, positioning TCS as a game changer in the post Y2K era. He was instrumental in making the ITIS service line one of the fastest growing and most strategic business units for TCS. In FY 2017, the ITIS business contributed to over 16 percent of TCS annual revenue.
PRK is credited with establishing and institutionalizing several Centers of Excellence in collaboration with software and hardware vendors to foster innovation and create new service offerings in tune with market needs. Prior to joining TCS, PRK was a technical expert in hardware engineering & design and a project engineer with a leading electronic manufacturing company. Since joining TCS, PRK has played a crucial role in pioneering initiatives such as setting up offshore development centers, leading a successful SEI CMM Level 5 assessment, conceptualizing the GDC model and paving the way for creation of GNDM™, an Industry first by TCS, which later became the ‘new normal’ for IT outsourcing in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
