Peter is the Independent Chair and also the Chair of the Remuneration, Nomination, and Disclosure Committees. He is a former senior diplomat, trade negotiator and public servant. Peter is on the Board of the European Australian Business Council, is a member of the Executive Board of the Australia Japan Business Cooperation Committee and is a member of the Asia Society Advisory Council.  He is also a member of the Centre for Strategy and Governance in Canberra.
Peter is a Director of Business Events Sydney; Senior Adviser, International, Link Group;Senior Advisor and Co-Chair of the Japan Business Group, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and a Consultant to Kokusai Business Advisory. 
Peter has spent more than 40 years in the Federal Government, with roles including: CEO of the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade); Deputy Secretary of DFAT, including for a period as Chair of DFAT’s Audit Committee; and Ambassador to Japan, the European Union, The World Trade Organisation in Geneva and Ambassador to APEC. He concentrated on trade policy and negotiations, including as Chief Negotiator, and commercial and political relations with Asia, the United States, South America and Europe.
Peter has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Sydney University; and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
